Catalogs
Catalogs are an excellent strategy for maximizing revenue. That’s because they offer a convenient way to organize pertinent information related to all of your best products and services. Many companies also choose to publish catalogs when they want to promote an upcoming sale or special deal. Catalogs further are the perfect way to highlight the best of your company’s offerings.
At Solo Printing, we focus on producing catalogs with consistent quality, while we let the customer tell us exactly what their requirements are.
For instance, our customers can choose from a wide variety of sizes. Our tall, slim catalogs measure five and a half inches by eight and a half inches and are ideal for wares like jewelry and watches because they can display a few choice products with brief descriptions.
Square or rectangular catalogs usually measure either six inches by six inches or six by nine inches. This is the size you choose when you need the catalog to describe low-volume services or products that don’t necessarily have a ton of features.
Most of Solo Printing’s clients choose either eight and a half by eleven inch catalogs or nine by 12 catalogs. Many companies that sell apparel choose these sizes.
You can even choose a large, square, 12 by 12 inch catalog. This is a great size when your business has a lot of services and products to display. The size of these pages allows for much more in-depth description and variety. Supermarkets and department stores sometimes choose this size.
We offer a wide variety of sizes
When you work with Solo Printing, you’re not locked into one of these standard sizes. If you have something else in mind, just let us know. We don’t believe in putting limitations on our customers.
That’s also true when it comes to choosing binding options. For smaller catalogs, the most common binding is the saddle stitch. To create these, technicians print on both sides of single sheets of paper. The sheets are then collated according to page number, folded in half and stapled with thin wire staples.
Larger catalogs benefit from perfect or book binding. This binding style includes a printable spine, which can be a convenience for your audience. For this type of binding, both sides of single sheets are printed on and then collated by page number. After being gathered into a book block, the edge of the spine is ground off. A thicker cardstock is wrapped around the book block and then attached with a strong and flexible glue.
Saddle stitching and book binding are the most common types of binding used on catalogs. However, your options don’t end there. If you believe it would be more convenient to have your catalogs spiral bound with plastic or bound with metallic wire-o binding, Solo Printing is ready to accommodate you.
Before you finalize your catalog order, you’ll want to consider what kind of paper you want to use. It’s fairly common to see catalogs printed on 80# or 100# paper, but a range of other options also is available. In addition to choosing the weight of the paper, you’ll need to choose whether you prefer a gloss or a matte finish.
Gloss finishes give your catalog a polished and professional look. In fact, this is the way to go when your catalog features plenty of colors. However, if your catalog relies more heavily on black and white text and images, then a matte finish may be more appropriate.
At Solo Printing, we’re here to help you produce a catalog from start to finish. We can work with the catalog design that you’ve already created, or you have the option of working with one of our designers to come up with something fresh and unique.
With the expertise of Solo Printing, your catalog will be a fantastic ambassador for your brand.
