So, What is Solo Doing to Help?
Solo Printing reduces or eliminates these negative impacts by investing in and using the best available technologies.
At Solo Printing, we:
- Purchase and operate energy-efficient equipment.
- Impose operating standards that are safe and healthy for both humans and the environment.
- Are committed to and certified for the highest of forestry standards.
- Use products and processes that reduce or eliminate the emission of VOCs
- Recycle and disposes of waste products in ways that do not harm the earth
On a personal level, Solo Printing’s owners, managers and employees live in sunny South Florida. They are outdoor people. They fish, sail, dive, golf, hang out at the beaches. They run, walk, kayak, bike and hike. They are gardeners, artists and photographers. Outdoor activities and sports take place through the twelve months of the four seasons. Respecting nature is in our blood.
And now, we are taking it one step further by partnering with One Tree Planted to plant trees for every print job sold at Solo.

Why Trees?
We care deeply about the planet and creating a business that gives back to nature. That’s why we’re thrilled to share that we’re partnering with One Tree Planted.
One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Their projects span the globe and are done in partnership with local communities and knowledgeable experts to create an impact for nature, people, and wildlife. Reforestation helps to rebuild forests after fires and floods, provide jobs for social impact, and restore biodiversity. Many projects have overlapping objectives, creating a combination of benefits that contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
By planting trees for every job sold, Solo will help give back to the planet by supporting biodiversity habitats, indigenous lands, and reforestation of recreational, community spaces.
With our partnership, we can directly reach the United States National Forest Service, which manages 150 national forests across 43 states. With One Tree Planted and your job purchase, we are helping reforest projects in more than twenty National Forests across America.
Each of our National Forest projects with One Tree Planted will help restore land damaged by events like fires, winds, and tree diseases. Our plant donation will go towards replanting beautiful maples to ponderosa pine trees from coast to coast!
A benefit of reforesting public land is that healthy outdoor recreation spaces will be bolstered, creating new opportunities for communities and visitors to connect with nature. Many of the United States’ most iconic wildlife species, like the brown bear, white-tailed deer, and countless songbirds, will have renewed habitat.
The National Forest projects focus on restoration from wind damage, tree diseases, and insect damage that have left the forest vulnerable.
Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and wellbeing, and create jobs for social impact. We’re honored to have reforestation through One Tree Planted as an integral part of our business model.
What Else is Solo Doing?
Aside from planting trees and participating in beach clean ups, Solo Printing supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are global goals set by the United Nations in 2015.
One goal that is especially important to us can be found within our production processes.
Goal 12 is to Ensure Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns.
Two targets of Goal 12 summarize what Solo Printing does to sustain green production:
- To achieve sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources.
- To achieve the environmentally sound management of chemicals and wastes throughout their life cycle, in accordance with agreed international frameworks, and significantly reduce their release to air, water and soil in order to minimize their adverse impacts on human health and the environment.
Environmental sustainability has multiple goals:
- For renewable resources, such as trees, to not use more than is being regenerated.
- For waste byproducts, to not put more into the environment that the environment can assimilate and convert to something good.
- To constantly look for new resources to prevent depletion of available resources.
- To increase the quality of life on Earth.
Solo Printing supports these goals and implements printing techniques to reach them in its imaging, prepress, printing, and post-press operations.
Therefore, we are honored to be partnering with One Tree Planted to further our environmental sustainability efforts. We are fortunate to be in a position where we can give back to our planet by helping the reforestation of national parks in the US.
From a tree in a forest to the final print product, Solo Printing manages its paper usage. Our company proactively works to sustain and conserve forestry products. This means purchasing and receiving certified products, handling and storing certified paper, processing it, and shipping it. And, now, planting trees for every job sold!
Three international organizations are dedicated to the promotion of responsible forestry: Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), and Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI). These organizations independently audit Solo Printing annually with an onsite inspection, review of records, and interview of personnel. All three have granted Chain of Custody Certifications to Solo Printing: FSC-CO19491, PEFC/29-31-104, and SFI-01250.
